Rates & engagement

How we price

No packages, no line items you did not ask for. We agree on how we work together first — the rate follows from who ends up on the project.

01

Fixed scope

You know what needs building.

We write the specification, quote it once and deliver against milestones. The number stops moving when the scope does.

Billed by milestone

02

Dedicated team

The product keeps moving.

Named specialists work with you for an agreed number of days each month. Priorities can change between sprints without renegotiating a contract.

Billed monthly, per specialist

03

Support & growth

It is live and needs looking after.

An agreed pool of hours a month covers fixes, updates, monitoring and the small changes that keep a site earning.

Billed monthly, unused hours discussed

Hourly rates by discipline

The basis every estimate above is built from · USD

Hourly rates in US dollars by discipline, shown as a range from the lowest to the highest rate.
DisciplineRate range, USD per hour
Cybersecurity engineering$120–180/ hr
Project management$70–110/ hr
Back-end development$65–100/ hr
Front-end development$60–95/ hr
UI/UX design$55–90/ hr
QA engineering$55–85/ hr
SMM projects$40–70/ hr

Where a project lands inside a range depends on seniority and complexity. Fixed-scope work is quoted as a total rather than by the hour — these rates are what that total is built from.

Design systems: scaling a product without the chaos

Custom software vs SaaS: when it actually pays to build

Common questions

The things clients ask us before signing. If yours is not here, write to us — a short answer costs nothing.

How long does a project take?

A landing page usually takes two to three weeks, a corporate website four to eight, a custom application longer. The estimate is fixed after the first two steps of our process — concept and specification — because that is the point where the scope stops moving.

How do you price the work?

Every service on the price list has a range, and where your project lands inside it depends on the number of pages and screens, the integrations you need and how much of the content is ready. Small, well-defined tasks can be fixed-price; longer engagements are usually billed per sprint.

What do you need from me to start?

A description of the business goal, examples of what you like and dislike, and whoever on your side will make decisions. Texts, photos and access to hosting can come later — we will tell you exactly what is needed and when.

Can you take over a project someone else started?

Yes. We start with an audit of the existing code and infrastructure and come back with what can be kept, what has to be rewritten and what it will cost. If a rebuild turns out cheaper than the rescue, we will say so.

Do you build mobile apps as well as websites?

Yes — native Android and iOS. Whether an app is the right answer at all is worth discussing first: for a lot of tasks a good mobile web version costs less and reaches more people.

What happens after launch?

Bugs that come from our work are fixed at our expense. Beyond that we offer maintenance and support — updates, backups, monitoring and small changes — either monthly or by request. Nothing is compulsory: the site is yours and you can maintain it elsewhere.

Who owns the code and the design?

You do, once the work is paid for — sources, design files and accounts included. We keep no locks: no proprietary CMS you can only host with us, no hidden dependencies.

Do you also handle promotion, or only development?

Both. Technical SEO — speed, markup, indexing — is part of every build. Ongoing promotion, content and analytics are a separate service, and it makes sense to plan it before the site is built rather than after.

Do you work with clients outside the UK?

Yes. Lakat LTD is registered in London and works remotely with clients in other countries. We agree on a couple of hours of overlap for calls and keep everything else in writing.
